Intervention

Intervention connects to the play Intermission in setting and characters. In terms of content, however, it goes much further. The characters still find themselves stuck on the island, which needs to be abandoned for its limited resources. For leaving the island a boat has to be build by all of the islanders together. The text, also here in the dialogue of a scenic work, takes up the theories of the philosopher Éduard Glissant. It is about the nomadic in society as well as dealing with the foreign. The coexistence of individuals as a mass rooted in different culture(s). The opacity of every individual as well as dealing with translation in a literal and metaphorical sense, as an essential basis of understanding, with all its limitations, advantages and disadvantages.
